It is a non-profit organization devoted to ideas worth spreading. TED is a global community, welcoming people from various disciplines and cultures, who seek a deeper understanding of the world. It was started in 1984 in California as a conference where Technology, Entertainment & Design converged, but today covers almost all topics – from science to business to global issues and is served in more than 100 languages. It has grown to support many world-changing ideas with its numerous initiatives.

Through these conversations, we wish to connect individuals, encourage our community to flourish upon each other’s ideas, and help bring out what’s best for the masses.

TEDxESMTBerlin Organizing Team 2026
Just when the world was turning upside down, a motivated group of TEDxESMTBerlin volunteers gathered online for the very first time. If anything, the urgency for the organization and its mission is to help people access potentially thought provoking ideas to create a greater impact on their lives.
While reflecting on the question, “What can TEDxESMTBerlin offer its community?” it was soon clear that the volunteers would have to be creative and think out of the box.
The volunteers really wanted to offer something valuable that might help strengthen people to face the many more variabilities lying ahead. Over the past few months, the volunteers worked hard on building teams and developing innovative ideas to make this event reachable to maximum people in an influential manner. All our team members are ESMT students who work voluntarily, driven by our passion for spreading ideas and bringing the community together. We see TEDxESMTBerlin as our playground for creativity, learning, and innovation.
